Principal Callahan shared a STEM contest from @hesstoytruck with Dondero teachers. 2nd Grade Teacher Jillian Foote was selected as one of the big winners and received Toy Trucks to be used in learning. They started on a journey of creating their own fire trucks. The project started with planning, followed by the design process, and finally, the end product. The students had a blast with this STEM project! They also shared a HESS fire truck with every teacher in Kindergarten through 2nd grade for use in their classrooms.

  • "I’m incredibly grateful for Amber Buttermore’s outstanding dedication as a parent volunteer at Dondero. Through her thoughtful and consistent presence on social media, she brought the inner workings of our school and the energy of our community events to life for families, staff, and the wider community.  Amber has a unique gift for capturing not just moments, but the spirit behind them.  Whether it’s the joy of students, the hard work of staff and volunteers, or the unity we share as a school, her posts both inform and inspire.  Thanks to Amber’s efforts, Dondero’s social media has become a vibrant reflection of who we are: a place of learning, creativity, and community. I truly appreciate the heart and time she has given to help share Dondero’s story."

  • As a parent at Dondero, I truly appreciated the clarity and consistency of the communication style from Amber. Her work on social media kept us informed, engaged, and connected to what was happening at school, from important reminders to celebrating student successes. She has a real talent for sharing information in a way that is both professional and approachable, which made it easier to stay in the loop as a busy parent.  Her communication made a big difference in building a strong school community.

  • "When we initially set out to expand our district’s social media presence, we envisioned it as a staff-driven effort. Frankly, I was hesitant when a principal suggested a parent volunteer take the lead. Amber proved all my reservations unfounded. She not only matched but exceeded our expectations. Her posts captured the heart of our schools, highlighted the dedication of our staff and students, and left our community with a vivid and positive impression of who we are. Amber has a true talent for storytelling through social media, and any district would be fortunate to have her expertise."
